Well this week went super slowwwwwwww. Im guessing it was because we had interviews on friday and it took forever to get to them. But they went really well and President taught me a few cool tricks to measure up my spirituality and some other stuff. But honestly most of our interview was about my comp Elder Martinez. Hes been struggling with wanting to go home, not to the surpirise of President and his wife.
The son of the family Gamboa came home last monday night. The branch had a unofficial welcome home since there arent many rms in the branch. It was a small testimony meeting saturday night and some food after. Jose´s (the RM) mom was one of the first invited to bear her testimony. "I said goodbye to a boy, and welcomed home a man". That will get a missionary homesick as fast as anything haha. But it was a really cool thing to see how he was treated like such a superhero here in this smallish branch. They all really look upto him and admire what he has done.
Sometimes I can get that feeling, like everything I do is or would be the actions of a hero. I see and hear people thank me and my companions from their heart for what we have done for them, and its just so gratifying. But as much as i would love to, i cant say its all easy. Even the superheros get knocked down right?
Our baptism planned for this week fell through, but thankfully it just got pushed back one week. His name is Angel and he is 20 years old. I cant remember if I have talked about him, but he is really one of the humblest young men I have ever met. He lived a rough life growing up, and is ready for it to be better. Should be good stuff.
We over heard a brother in the branch ragginf on our recent convert Alberto. He was saying that he only got baptized for his girlfriend and will definetly go inactive. We were around the corner eating and he didnt see us. He said when boyfriends and girlfreinds get baptized through their significant others, it never works. This went on for a while until we didnt want to hear it. We came around the corner and he turned redder than me. I shook his hand and with a smile told him "My mom was converted while dating my Dad and then baptized by him, and look where i am. Instead of condeming him you could try helping him" We said thanks to the sister he was talking to for feeding us and left. 5 days later in church, he apologized to me and said he was wrong. Its the small victories =)
Well there are some good things a´brewin here in Champoton. Thats all I have for this week so I guess i talk to everyone next week! ¡Que les vayan bien!
Love,
Elder Kitterman
