This week was... fufilling.
Firstly, I was dying while reading about the black guy hitting on Sierra. Get at it girl!
Sorry about last week. I wrote the most epic letter of my life, and thus was my rage that much more fueled when it pretty much earsed itself when I finished. Not that big of a deal really. Now I just have some really great stories to tell for when I get home. I guess I could tell you this week, but that would take up my time that I have to write about this week, and then I would be like a week behind...forever. I think I will just hang on to them for now.
We got a lot of people to go to church this week. We have two wards, so instead of it just being game time for like an houre or 2, it was game time for like 5 hours. It was crazy. Oh, I call Sunday mornings game time becuase the progress of our investigators all depends on whether they go to church or not, so its almost like a whole week of hard work comes down to whether they show up to church or not. Its gets intense. Most of my mexican comps even know what "game time" means.
But no that all the pieces are starting to come together here, we should be seeing a lot more cool things happen. We have a baptism planned for this week for Joaquin, the man with one leg. He is super excited for his baptism, and he has already been taught everything, so basically we just sit and talk with him about rndom stuff. He had to drop coffee a few weeks back, so we traded him for herbal tea to drink when it got cold at night. Friday night he invited us over for tea. We just sat there and drank herbal tea and talked. It was the first time in my life i had down that. Not drank herbal tea, but just sat and talked while doing it. There was at one point where he told "dont ever waste one minute over your youthfulness. I would give my other leg to go back and do what you two are doing" It was pretty deep.
We were knocking one morning. Big surprise right? But seriously, we found a women, about as tall as me (she is like the shaq of women here) who has three small kids and no husband. Her husband left them for no reason 2 years ago and went to the states. He continues to call them, but for nothing good. He is always threatning to come and take away the kids from here. All she wanted from us was to know how coul she let go of the hate she has for her husband. She came to church and loved it. She later told us that in the moment that we arrived, she was pleading with God to help her put her life back in order. I cant remember how we even ended up at her house. It was just one of those tender mercies of the Lord.
The pictures attached are kinda old, but better ate than never right? More to come...
Well I have some emails to make up for for last week, so I will leave everyone here. I hope everyone has a fantastic week. Keep on keepin.
Love,
Elder Kitterman
