Well thats another change. I stayed, and I am very happy to have done so. We have so many people that are so close, I can feel it!
So we have been doing really well. We have 2 baptisms lined up for this Saturday, and then people with baptismal dates from the next month or so. The baptisms we have for this Saturday are a woman and her 9 year daughter, who recentently just remarried with a long time member in our ward. We didnt know them because they just moved into the ward, but when he introduced us to his wife and her daughter it was like "Elders, my wife wants to get baptized with Diana (daughter) as soon as possible. They already know everything and we are in 3 Nephi as a family". So we are pretty much just verifying everything and they will be baptized this Saturday.
One of our investigators didnt come to Church yesterday because she had an emergency with her youngest and had to leave in the morning and was gone all day. When we went to talk to hre that night, we told her that she had to wait another week to be baptized, and she cried. She wants to be baptized so bad. She is the lady I told you we found knocking who was left by her husband 2 years ago with 3 tiny kids. Whe we first talked with her, she wanted to know how she could get rid of all the hate she had for him. Now, every time she prayers, she prays that he is forgiven for what he did, and many times for his safety whever he may be.
We didnt get as many people to church as we were hoping yesterday, buts thats life. As I was sitting there in sacrement, somewhat frustrated, Armando and his wife Minerva walkd through the door. They are a family we have been teaching for about a weel that live 20 minutes outside the city in a town called Lerma. In preisthood, we had a lesson on Family home teaching, and Armando, who had never been to church in his life, raised his hand and began teaching the other 35-40 men in the room what it was really like to be outside the church looking in. Everyone was shocked and left with a new perpesctive not only on home teaching, but on life without the gospel. I had who knows how many members ask me afterwards in private "where did you find him??".
We have another lady that didnt come to church yesterday because of the superbowl. I wasnt expecting that, but her and her husband are avid gamblers and placed some big money and the Patriots. Boo. Anyways, its something I have never come across on my mission before, and I constantly catch myself getting into with her about the NFL. Its frustrating.
Well I coming up short on more information on the week. I will see what I can put together in this coming week so I actually have something to write about next week. I hope everyone has a fantastic week. Read your scriptures! Say your prayers! Love one another! and all that other stuff they teach in the primary. Paz.
Love,
Elder Kitterman
